Only the working class is positioned to end the Iraq war. The reserve of opposition ot the war and willingness to fight it is growing, not weakening. The cynical reformists who count the declining numbers trend at their rallies and marches are only measuring the last gasps of the initial protest strategy, that oriented to the middle class and the Democratic party. The majority of workers in the US who are fed up with the war are looking for a way to end it, not Saturday afternoon speeches about how horrible the war is.
I felt this one coming a while back as a nagging fear ... and here is is boys and girls, the begginning of the end of Democracy as we know it. It was only a matter of time before the states caught up with "The State" in deciding that if the Bush Administration could get away with sping on U.S. citizens, then local law enforcement agencies should be able to do it too. Case of monkey see monkey do.
If you for one minute consider, that people like myself from European backgrounds are going to kow-tow to the likes of you and your insane fundamentalism and pity trips then you are very much mistaken. I went to a great deal of trouble to learn Australian Customs, Traditions and Ideology when I came here.
