Workers World condemns the cowardly assassination of 72-year-old Puerto Rican liberation fighter Filiberto Ojeda Ríos by the U.S. government and the FBI. He was well-known and respected among Puerto Rican people as the leader of the Popular Boricua Army, known popularly as the Macheteros, an organization fighting for Puerto Rico's liberation from U.S. colonial rule. This FBI execution proved once again to the world that the biggest terrorists are in Washington.
the reason, given below is ironic, since the US has regularly sent terrorism suspects(including a canadian citizen) to countries like Syria and egypt to be tortured....
US is violatring its own laws. In any case its a bogus reason, s theres no indication he would be tortured..but his trial WOULD expose sinister US involvement in those countries.
But this ruling has one positive benefit: anyt country will be able to deny extradition to the US on the grounds the US may send the person to be tortured.
.The masses are screwed by a powerful elite, and Congress only represents the wealthy class. Rome went that way thousands of years ago, and the US Empire is boasting of it's strength, while the Chinese are dreaming up its biological end.
An infoshop gathering is being planned in Baltimore for Spring 2006. We hope this event will create a solid network of like-minded people: both improving our own respective infoshops and having an international resource for mass mobilizing efforts. Help and infoshop contacts are needed!
