What's up in Iraq
24 Oct 2004
Resistance not responsible for abduction of aid worker. Will the CIA have her beheaded and offer another grisly video to assure the American people that our enemy is pure evil and that God is on our side? The best protection we can offer her is to understand what is going on and spread that understanding. Wake up already. Its 1984. jamie

"God's Word" (in 25 words or less)
24 Oct 2004
Today is Sunday, and the topic of today's sermon is idol worship, which, tragically, despite the best efforts of reformers, has continued to corrupt and pollute our nation throughout its history and even right up to this very day.

Organizing meeting for Less-than Lethal Weapons 10/24 12pm at LPC
24 Oct 2004
A very small crew gathered over 400 signatures in a few short hours at Fenway Saturday night for a petition to ban or limit less than lethal weapons. With a larger group we can collect several more, or fly banners, or distribute literature, or do other things. People can react to this injustice as they see fit, but at noon we will get together to talk about it and prepare at the Lucy Parsons Center in the South End. The rally we are preparing for will be at 5:30 and will likely converge at Kenmore Square towards Fenway and accross from the Bus station. After 5:30 at least some of us will be heading towards the gates with petitions for folks to sign.

Greens should vote Kerry
23 Oct 2004
This year is the year for Greens to vote for a Democrat. This will make us more relevant in the future and will send the right message to Republicans. Go too far and we'll even help Democrats win.

A Response to the "Kerry in Swing State" Petition Signers [Zinn, Chomsky, Et al]
23 Oct 2004
<p>Many of the individuals who gave a blanket endorsement to Nader in the 2000
election have signed a petition urging "support for Kerry/Edwards in all
swing states, even while we strongly disagree with Kerry's policies on Iraq
and other issues." (See: <a href="http://www.votetostopbush.com";>http://www.votetostopbush.com<;/a>)
</p>
<p>
Many warned at the time that some sort of "strategic voting" would be
needed in 2000. (See my piece "A New Way To Vote -- As A Duet" <a href="http://www.commondreams.org/views/102900-105.htm";>http://www.commondreams.org/views/102900-105.htm<;/a>)
</p>
<p>
Clearly, in states which Bush or Kerry have basically stated they will lose
-- so-called "non-swing states" -- voting for whoever you want is a no-brainer.

Media Drops The Ball: Libertarian Presidential Candidate Arrested, Story Missed By Media
23 Oct 2004
What if some other country were having an election, and citizens were only
allowed to hear from two government-approved candidates? What if their
opposition, candidates on the ballot in a majority of states, were arrested
on the orders from the leader in power, during the Presidential Debates,
would this be news?

Article and Videos that Bush doesn't want you to see.
