European Activists Need Your Help!
07 Jun 2004
As you may or may not know, petitions and
demonstrations in Europe are still
effective tactics for influencing government
policies and decisions. For example, this year in
France, the
governement did not go through with two major
decisions: one
concerning unemployement payement and the other
to cut research funding - just because of
demonstrations and petitions. So please read the
following appeal, and if you feel like it, sign
the
referenced petition. By helping to make it more
large
and international, you will help it to be more
efficient.
Since 1981, 150 former Italian Activists have been legally residing in France. Some of them are now being unfairly threatened with extradition to Italy where they would immediately be sent to prison. Sign a petition to let them reside in France!
Around 150 former Italian activists, condemned in Italy for actions linked with the political and social upheaval of the 1970s, have emigrated to France. Since 1981, they have been legally residing there on the promise made by the former French President Francois Mitterrand. He promised that they would always have safe refuge there so long as they renounced their past political activities, did not go underground, and did not involve themselves in politics. Some of them are now being unfairly threatened with extradition to Italy where they would immediately be sent to prison.

The Reagan Legacy
06 Jun 2004
Usually, I am very reluctant to criticize the dead. However, since the corporate media seem so fervent in their desire to glorify Ronald Reagan and will probably do so for weeks, if not months, I think an alternative perspective is only fair.

Donate to the no-DNC convergence
05 Jun 2004
Modified: 08:28:09 PM
We will resist the DNC with all of our might. We will make the delegates realize we do not want them in our fair city. We will refuse to recognize the State and we will continue to fight against the crook that is nominated. We will not ask for freedom, we will demand it. In order to extend our base of support we have added a link to donate money to the Bl(A)ck Tea Society on our website. This will allow even those who cannot make the journey to Boston this summer to support us in demonstrating our dissent. This money will allow us to organize a convergence center and autonomous zone; host a free open-air bazaar and concert; and fund the legal defense of our comrades arrested by police repression during the convention. Your support is deeply needed and appreciated.
