IMF Releases Paper on Ending Predatory Behavior: Paper Propels IMF Board Financial Stability Decisions

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) officially released a major paper focused on increasing stability in the financial system and preventing predatory hold-out behavior in debt restructuring. Last Monday's ruling by the Supreme Court in NML Capital vs. Argentina has legitimized predatory behavior that the IMF, US Government and legitimate investors seek to stop. The IMF paper was the second paper that reviewed potential aspects of an international bankruptcy process for the IMF Executive Board.

For several days in mid May, upwards of 20,000 Vietnamese waving flags and carrying metal bars rampaged through industrial parks in central and south Vietnam. They hunted down Chinese workers and set fire to Chinese and other foreign-owned factories, screaming: “We are Vietnamese!” This outpouring was the culmination of a series of anti-China protests in at least 22 of Vietnam’s 63 provinces that left over 20 people dead and nearly 100 injured. Beijing sent a small armada to evacuate its nationals. Seeking to prevent foreign investors from pulling out of the country, the Vietnamese Stalinist bureaucrats moved to rein in the anti-China frenzy they had unleashed.

200,000 Cambodians flee Thailand amid military crackdown By Tom Peters

At least 200,000 Cambodian migrant workers have fled Thailand since the start of the month, with tens of thousands continuing to cross the border every day. The mass exodus comes amid a crackdown on immigrants, especially those from Cambodia, by Thailand’s military junta, the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO), which seized power in a coup on May 22.
