New York City is continuing to violate the First Amendment and refuses to issue a permit for the Feb 15 peace march . WE NEED YOUR PHONE CALLS NOW AND DAILY, REGARDLESS OF WHICH PEACE MARCH YOU ARE ATTENDING, IF ANY.
On Martin Luther King Day in front of Cambridge City Hall, 500 people rallied for peace. This protest against the Bush administrationís plans to go to war with Iraq was not isolated, but part of a nationwide and worldwide weekend of peace rallies. This particular rally sought to remind people of the connections King had made between racism, militarism and materialism.
the nypd is currently not permitting a march. All the groups and individuals involved in the day of ptotests are still going and all of us should go just to show the police that they do not control the voice of the people. Next saturday is vital to the anti-war movement because of it's timing and the location. So please come and march with us in NYC (bring your friends and family)
On February 15, hundreds of thousands of people will converge on New York City to stand with millions around the globe against the Bush Administration's plan for war on Iraq. While we are still unable to announce a location for this march and rally, one thing is certain: It is happening. But with the NYPD continuing to deny our request for a march permit, we are facing a major fight over our basic democratic right to public protest.
