The great task of grassroots dual power is to seek out and create social spaces and fill them with liberatory institutions and relationships. Where there is room for us to act for ourselves, we form institutions conducive not only to catalyzing revolution, but also to the present conditions of a fulfilling life, including economic and political self-management to the greatest degree achievable. We seek not to seize power, but to seize opportunity vis a vis the exercise of our power.
I am writing this early Tuesday morning (Sept.17) right after visiting the MOVE home on Kingsessing Ave. in West Philadelphia. I spoke with three MOVE members keeping watch at the front gate of their home while the rest of the family was inside trying to get some rest. The situation is very tense right now and MOVE must be on 24 hour watch. The windows of their house (facing the street) are boarded up in preparation for a police assault.
Welcome to Philadelphia!
A web resource for existing efforts who soley communicate via phone to have a means of a basic web page focusing on historical and current content in a logical and creative manner to arrive at connections which will hopefully be rather broad and conducive to foster various relations of interest to the primary focus at hand. In this haste of this one I have fell short of my organized intent but will strive on during the next few days. I got so sidetracked that I only have a limited number of references regarding the pilot effort for the "Logan #", for all who have been in similar situations and who continue to be.
