Building a Global Grassroots Infrastructure-2, the Chiapas Media Project

The Chiapas Media Project, set up to teach video film-making to indigenous Chiapanecos so they could document their own lives, went to the town of La Garrucha, deep in the Selva Lacandona, for four days of intensive workshops, in the summer of 1998. There I met Crisanto, a skilled indigenous film-maker from the adjoining state of Oaxaca. Big Dig labor feud grows

he head of the Boston Building Trades Council said yesterday the Bush administration's attempt to alter a 10-year-old agreement to ban nonunion labor on Big Dig construction work could mean that all the contracts already signed must be renegotiated.
For his part, Nigro strongly disputed predictions by some in the construction industry that union members would cause disruption or violence unless the labor agreement remains in place.
