Hyde's lawyer, Peter Onek, told the court police ``have to give up something because of the power and authority they are given,'' including being tape-recorded.
Onek said Hyde turned on his tape recorder after being pulled over by several Abington police officers on Oct. 26, 1998, because he believed he had been unfairly targeted because of his long hair, leather jacket and sports car.
