Despite having a valid ticket, Ralph Nader was tonight barred from even sitting in the audience of the presidential debate in Boston. (This is an updated and corrected version of an earlier post, "Nader vows to crash 'corrupt' debate.")
Outside the Presidential Debate at UmassDrunken union members and some pro-Nader demonstrators antagonized one another while Pro-Palestinian and Anti-Death penalty demonstrators greeted ons another with cheers.
About 10,000 pro-Gore union demonstrators and about 10,000 protestors came out to the police-designed protest site near the UMass-Boston campus where the first Presidential debate was held Tuesday evening. There were a few clashes between these groups, but fortunately nothing serious. The protest gathering was festive and mostly trouble-free, but the protestors never managed to get near the actual debate.
Could someone who has good audio or video of the final negotiations where the police promised to released those arrested by 6am please post to the site. Also, call O3 legal at 782-2313 x4, to let them know you have one.
