We are without a doubt a great nation and as an American myself, I can honestly say there is nowhere else I would rather live. We have so much to be thankful for and to feel blessed for. We have the abundance of the necessities at the ready (or at least enough of them) for most of us, allowing us to focus on the things we want, whether material possessions, lifestyle or developing our own individual points of view and identities. We have sufficient resources so that we feel fortunate enough to want to be able to empower those without such opportunities to seek these things also if they so choose - though we don't always take the smartest steps with regards to that. |

Just when the Obama campaign couldn’t appear any less inspiring, Paul Ryan was put forth as the Republican vice presidential candidate. Suddenly team Obama was supplied with enough political munitions to scare every last American over the possible Ryan destruction of Medicare, Medicaid, cuts to Social Security and the various other evils inherent in his proposed national budget. Consequently, many Liberals and Leftists across the spectrum are now focused on preaching the horrors of a Republican presidential victory and thus the necessity of re-electing Obama. |

Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon experienced heavy flooding yesterday after several days of non-stop rains.According to the country's National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council in this morning's news, 11 were reported dead and 4 others were hurt. |
