Dershowitz Celebrates Killing |

Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz is a rabid Zionist who recently and infamously championed the use of torture as part of the "war on terror."
He writes, “When the United States and British forces have engaged in targeted killings of terrorists, there have often been collateral deaths of non terrorists, as there apparently were in this instance as well. Collateral deaths are inevitable when terrorists hide among civilians and use them as shields. Both Israel and the United States make great efforts to reduce the number of collateral deaths and injuries but they do not always succeed.
I applaud the targeted killing of Al Zarqawi. His death will save many innocent lives. But I also applaud the targeted killings of anti-Israel terrorists whose deaths save numerous lives. All decent people must insist on a single standard of judging tactics such as targeted killing. It is nothing short of bigotry to approve this tactic when used by the United States and Great Britain but to condemn it when it is used by Israel.†|

Secret US `web' of prisons alleged |

The head of an investigation into alleged CIA secret prisons charged yesterday that 14 European nations collaborated with the United States to create a ``spider's web" of clandestine flights and detention centers across the continent and beyond.
Dick Marty, a Swiss senator who led the Council of Europe's investigation, offered little in the way of hard evidence for what he called serious violations of the human rights of at least 17 terrorist suspects allegedly shunted around the globe by CIA interrogators. But the long-awaited report issued by the council -- which monitors human rights issues -- signaled the outrage felt by many Europeans over America's alleged use of the continent's air space and landing ports in prosecuting its war against Islamic terrorism.
``It is now clear -- although we are still far from having established the whole truth -- that authorities in several European countries actively participated with the CIA in these unlawful activities," Marty said at a news conference in Paris.
The 67-page report specifically accused Poland and Romania of allowing the CIA to use their territory to transfer secret prisoners from plane to plane. At least 12 other European nations allowed refuel ing stops, ``pickup points," or ``staging centers" for controversial CIA undertakings, the report stated. |

al-Zarqawi killed again, for the third time.... |

He's been killed again. How long before everyone forgets that they've killed the bogyman so they can kill him again?
BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- Terrorist leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the most wanted man in Iraq, was killed in a coalition airstrike near Baquba, jubilant U.S. and Iraqi authorities announced Thursday.
The 3-year-old insurgency has "lost its leader," Gen. George Casey, the U.S. military commander in Iraq, told reporters.
Details are still emerging of the operation against the self-proclaimed leader of al Qaeda in Iraq who pledged allegiance to Osama bin Laden. (Watch how al-Zarqawi's body was identified -- 2:28)
But the killing of al-Zarqawi, who had a $25 million bounty on his head, is a major coup for the embattled coalition forces. |

'U.S. Military Hides Many More Hadithas' |

An Iraqi doctor who was in Haditha during a deadly U.S. raid last year says there are many more stories like that in Haditha that are yet untold.
The Pentagon admitted last week that U.S. Marines killed 24 civilians -- including a 66-year-old woman and a four-year-old boy -- in the Western Iraqi town last November. Before that, the military had maintained the civilians were killed by a roadside bomb.
"There are many, many, many cases like Haditha that are still undercover and need to be highlighted in Iraq," Dr. Salam Ishmael, projects manager with the organisation Doctors for Iraq, and former chief of the junior doctors in Baghdad's Medical City Hospital told IPS.
In Haditha itself, he said, the U.S. military cut electricity and water to the entire city, attacked the hospital and burned the pharmacy.
"The hospital has been attacked three times. In November 2005 the hospital was occupied by the American and Iraqi Army for seven days, which is a severe breach of the Geneva Conventions," he said.
"In one of these attacks, the U.S. soldiers used live ammunition inside the hospital. They handcuffed all the doctors and destroyed the entire contents of the medical storage. It ended with the killing of one of the patients in his bed." |

US troops faced fresh accusations of unlawful killings of civilians in Iraq on Tuesday.
The Iraqi Islamic Party, the main Sunni Arab political party, accused American forces of murdering more than two dozen Iraqis in a series of incidents across the country in May.
"The US forces have violated human rights many times across Iraq," said Omar al-Juburi, spokesperson for the human rights section of the party led by vice-president Tareq al-Hashemi.
In the latest in a string of allegations against US forces, Juburi said 29 Iraqis were killed in May in separate incidents in the towns of Latifiyah and Yusifiyah, south of Baghdad, and in the capital itself |

Haditha probe raises accountability questions |

Military investigations into alleged U.S. atrocities in Iraq, including the killings of 24 civilians at Haditha, shine the spotlight anew on a question raised by the abuses of Iraqi prisoners at Abu Ghraib: How far up the chain of command should officials be held accountable, if the misconduct is confirmed?
At this stage, with the investigations not yet complete, it appears that a small number of Marines could face murder charges in connection with the killings at Haditha on Nov. 19. Several other Marines are expected to be charged soon in relation to the alleged April 26 murder of an Iraqi civilian in Hamdaniyah that investigators believe was planned in advance. |

Since it came up in another post, I thought a new "refresher" post would suit this issue. Just in case any of you conspiracy theorists out there forgot...this link will probably be what our history books and encylopedias say about the invasions. History will be on the US side in this invasion...plain and simple.
Ready for the broken record of "sure it will be on the US side of the US history books". Conspiracy theorists please...if you are right...show proof and change the history books. The US doesn't have to be right and isn't in every case, I'm not implying that. |

Who is targeting civlilians? |

"The figure does not include civilians killed in insurgent bombings, the official said. Even so, the number is the highest monthly death toll in the capital since the war began three years ago.
In May 1,398 bodies were brought to the Baghdad morgue, the official said.
All were killed in attacks; in most cases the bodies were found strewn across the Iraqi capital, shot execution-style, the official said. "
This article doesn't say who killed these civilians...but the implication is that they were killed by insurgents. Maybe brad and the enemy can huddle around this article to see who the real enemy is. Maybe I'm wasting my time. |
