Bush: 26%
While I didn't like either of them, this must make the blood of Clinton hating fanatics boil, who just happen to be the 29% of the population that demand we kiss Bush' feet.

Eyewitnesses are reporting that during Bush's recent visit to Florida, protesters were shocked to see security goons and secret service aiming assault rifles at them hanging out of the window of the passing motorcade.
Should we be surprised that ordinary bill of rights exercising Americans are treated like terrorists in light of the latest revelations on the NSA spying program?

NSA Whistleblower Says "People Are Going To Be Shocked" By His Testimony Next Week..."This Is Only The Tip Of The Iceberg" |

CongressDaily reports that former NSA staffer Russell Tice will testify to the Senate Armed Services Committee next week that not only do employees at the agency believe the activities they are being asked to perform are unlawful, but that what has been disclosed so far is only the tip of the iceberg. Tice will tell Congress that former NSA head Gen. Michael Hayden, Bush's nominee to be the next CIA director, oversaw more illegal activity that has yet to be disclosed:
"A former intelligence officer for the National Security Agency said Thursday he plans to tell Senate staffers next week that unlawful activity occurred at the agency under the supervision of Gen. Michael Hayden beyond what has been publicly reported, while hinting that it might have involved the illegal use of space-based satellites and systems to spy on U.S. citizens. ..." |

US Army Recruits Abused on US Soil |

The Army has shaken up a program to heal recruits injured in basic training after soldiers and their parents said troops hurt at Fort Sill were punished with physical abuse and medical neglect. "The supreme irony," said one mother, "is that I was more worried about my son at Fort Sill than the one in Iraq." |

Ubiquitous NSA Telephone Call Logging: The Practical Significance |

Recent revelations that the NSA is logging all telephone calls of all Americans, while blatantly illegally and outrageously anti-democratic, are far more significant than the media leads you to believe. These revelations are not really new. An earlier article made it clear that a defense contractor was being paid to build "a system to identify calling patterns between suspected terrorists." The new article states that the NSA "is using the data to analyze calling patterns in an effort to detect terrorist activity." Since it has now been revealed that the goal is to log and database ALL telephone calls between Americans and analyze them to detect terrorist activity, we can conclude that the Bush Administration considers ALL Americans to be terrorists. |

If billions of dollars spent on security, military campaigns and troop movement were instead spent on investment and assistance for poor countries, promotion of health, combating different diseases, education and improvement of mental and physical fitness, assistance to the victims of natural disasters, creation of employment opportunities and production, development projects and poverty alleviation, establishment of peace, mediation between disputing states and distinguishing the flames of racial, ethnic and other conflicts were would the world be today? Would not your government, and people be justifiably proud? Would not your administration's political and economic standing have been stronger? And I am most sorry to say, would there have been an ever increasing global hatred of the American governments? |

Joshua Frank offers up a number of good reasons not to go into Sudan's Darfur region such as the fact that it would split the anti-war movement (insofar as there is one) and likely exacerbate the problems there (seeing as the military is composed of hired killers-- that's what the military IS-- this seems reasonable to suppose)...
The only one he left out is that if a bunch of Hollywood actors are supporting some political action, odds are it's short-sighted at best. That's axiomatic.
