Jury: Rape, murder confession was faked
Jury says ex-investigator manipulated Virginia man onto death row
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - A federal jury on Friday ruled that a former state police investigator fabricated a confession that sent Earl Washington Jr. to death row for a rape and murder he didn’t commit. Washington came within nine days of being executed.
The five-woman, four-man panel awarded Washington $2.25 million in his lawsuit against the estate of Curtis Reese Wilmore, who died in 1994. It did so upon finding that Wilmore deliberately fabricated evidence against Washington, which resulted in Washington's conviction and death sentence... |

Judge Calls Government's Wiretap Arguments "gobbledygook" |

A U.S. appeals panel sharply challenged the Bush administration Friday over new rules making it easier for police and the FBI to wiretap Internet phone calls. A judge said the government's courtroom arguments were "gobbledygook."
The skepticism expressed so openly toward the administration's case encouraged civil liberties and education groups that argued that the U.S. is improperly applying telephone-era rules to a new generation of Internet services.
"Your argument makes no sense," U.S. Circuit Judge Harry T. Edwards told the lawyer for the Federal Communications Commission, Jacob Lewis. "When you go back to the office, have a big chuckle. I'm not missing this. This is ridiculous. Counsel!" |

Examiner: Guards suffocated boy at boot camp |
Submitted by: @ / 05 May 2006

|
TAMPA, Fla. - A 14-year-old boy beaten by guards at a juvenile boot camp died because the guards suffocated him, a medical examiner said Friday.
The findings of the second autopsy on Martin Lee Anderson conflict with the initial ruling from a different medical examiner that the boy died from complications of sickle cell trait, a usually benign blood disorder.
“Martin Anderson’s death was caused by suffocation due to actions of the guards at the boot camp,†said Dr. Vernard Adams, who conducted the second autopsy. The boy’s body was exhumed after a camp surveillance videotape surfaced showing the guards beating him the day before he died... |

This headline is just an example of the same type of rhetoric as calling Rumsfeld a "Raving Lunatic". This is an example of "trolling" being allowed as long as it is in line with BIMC editors opinions....I'm sure this will be deleted shortly after posting. However newsworthy it may be. |

Piggies Chased Out of Mexican Town |

[[[ Inspiring slide show, click on the link. ]]]
Have you seen the little piggies
Crawling in the dirt
And for all the little piggies
Life is getting worse
Always having dirt to play around in.
Have you seen the bigger piggies
In their starched white shirts
You will find the bigger piggies
Stirring up the dirt
Always have clean shirts to play around in.
In their styes with all their backing
They don't care what goes on around
In their eyes there's something lacking
What they need's a damn good whacking.
Everywhere there's lots of piggies
Living piggy lives
You can see them out for dinner
With their piggy wives
Clutching forks and knives to eat their bacon. |

ATLANTA, Georgia (AP) -- Anti-war protesters repeatedly interrupted Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld during a speech Thursday, and a former CIA analyst accused him in a question-and-answer session of lying about Iraq prewar intelligence.
"Why did you lie to get us into a war that caused these kind of casualties and was not necessary?" asked Ray McGovern, the former analyst. |
